The Same Three Problems, in Every Laundry
Talk to any laundry or dry cleaning owner in Nigeria long enough and the same three complaints come up. Clothes get mixed up between customers because a handwritten tag fell off. Staff cannot say where a specific order is, washing, drying, ironing, without walking to the back to check. And the phone does not stop ringing with customers asking if their order is ready, while staff call customers to say the opposite.
None of this is a staffing problem. It is a visibility problem. When the only record of an order is a paper ticket and someone's memory, mistakes are inevitable once volume goes past a handful of orders a day.
What a Laundry Board Actually Does
A Laundry Board is a kanban-style screen with one column per stage: New Orders, Washing, Ironing, and Ready. Every order drops into New Orders the moment it is taken at the counter, and a staff member taps the card to move it along as work actually happens. Anyone in the shop can look at the board and know exactly what is overdue, what is in progress, and what is sitting ready for pickup, without asking anyone.
Before an order can be marked ready, it goes through a QC check. If something was missed, it is sent back for redo with the reason recorded, instead of quietly being handed back to a customer and discovered later.
One Print Instead of a Handwritten Ticket
At drop-off, Opsuite prints everything needed on a standard 80mm receipt printer in one go: the customer's receipt with a QR code to track the order, a tag for every single item, and a floor copy listing what needs doing. A tag reading “Item 2 of 4” cannot be confused with another customer's shirt the way a loose paper ticket can.
Customers Stop Calling to Ask
Because the system already knows when a load starts and when it finishes, customers get an SMS and email automatically at both points, plus a tracking link from the QR code on their receipt. The calls asking “is it ready?” mostly stop on their own, because the customer already knows.
